Congratulations to Reuben who is this weeks star of the week.
Reuben gives his all in lessons and has been trying particularly hard in maths recently. Well done Reuben, it’s starting to pay off!

This week, set 2 started a new unit on Explanations. So far, we have identified the main language and structural features, as well as beginning to think about some ‘cracking contraptions.’ We will be writing an explanation for Wallace and Grommit’s Snoozeatron, so we have started with mind mapping technical vocabulary. Tomorrow we will complete a flow chart for the Snoozeatron.
Our topic in science at the moment is Forces. More recently, we’ve been thinking about friction and the grip on our shoes. We got to wondering about the best shoe for John Travolta to wear for dancing in Saturday Night Fever.
After a lesson understanding different grips needed on different surfaces, today we designed some our of our shoe soles to suit dancing.
Have a look at some of our designs:
On Wednesday we walked across to Camp Hill Boys School to watch their performance of Jungle Book. It was a great play and we really enjoyed watching such talent! We also picked up lots of tips which we’ll remember when we begin to practise for our end of year 6 performance.
With only 5 weeks and 2 days to go until Christmas, we have started to think about the annual Christmas hamper. This year, 6M’s theme is ‘flower power,’ therefore we are asking for any donations linked to this theme. How about a box of Roses chocolates, a poinsettia, floral bath products or even something yummy that’s made with flour!
Please bring any unused donations into school and give to Miss Mattocks who will add it to the (currently empty) box!
Today we’re raising money for Children in Need. Children all over the school are dressed as heroes, and all sorts of things are being sold at break time, from cakes and bookmarks to Pudsey bears and wristbands. We are certainly on track to raise a lot of money. Here are a few pictures so far….
